Hugo Miranda de Sousa Andrade Ramos
Hugo Ramos is currently Managing Partner of Venture Catalysts, a company that he co-founded in 2011. Venture Catalysts supports researchers, entrepreneurs and startups through the technology commercialization and company building processes. With Venture Catalysts he co-founded two startups: Abyssal (software for Oil&Gas) and Immunethep (biotech pharma).
Between 2015 and 2017 he was Head of Equity and Quasi-Equity Department at IFD – Instituição Financeira de Desenvolvimento, the Portuguese Promotional Bank, where he has been responsible for developing and launching co-financing lines for Business Angels and Venture Capital of more than €160 million.
His previous experience at Change Partners (2010-2015), an independent Venture Capital, where he was responsible for analyzing business plans and had been involved in the management of subsidiary companies. Hugo was executive manager at Fluidinova (nanomaterials) and 5ensesinfood (food technology).
He has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from FEUP (2000) and he has extensive experience (2001-2009) in industrial environment at CUF – Químicos Industriais in process engineering, HSE and continuous improvement methodologies, namely Six Sigma.
Hugo holds a Magellan MBA from the University of Porto Business School (EGP-UPBS) since 2010 where he attended the COHiTEC programme for Technological Entrepreneurship.
