PBS measures its 2025 Carbon Footprint

Porto Business School is developing the internal project “Measurement of Porto Business School’s 2025 Carbon Footprint”. This initiative reinforces the School’s commitment to sustainability, environmental responsibility and positive impact.

The project aims to calculate PBS’s 2025 Carbon Footprint, covering Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. To ensure a rigorous and representative assessment, the School collected information from the PBS community on commuting patterns to campus, a key indicator for understanding the environmental impact associated with the institution’s daily activity.

Based on the results, Porto Business School will assess potential measures to reduce its environmental footprint, supporting more conscious resource management and an institutional approach aligned with the challenges of the sustainable transition.

The participation of the PBS community was essential to this stage of the project, highlighting the active role of students, alumni, faculty, staff and partners in building a more sustainable and future-ready school.

As part of the data collection process, and to encourage student participation, a draw was held awarding a €1,500 voucher to be used in future Porto Business School programmes. The winner was student Inês da Silva Ferreira Mendes.

This initiative is part of PBS’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible leadership, fostering knowledge, action and positive impact in society.
