Porto Business School is proud to welcome Luís Reis as a full-time Professor of Strategy, strengthening its faculty community with a distinguished career shaped by business leadership, academic knowledge, and strategic vision.
With a professional journey developed across some of Portugal’s leading business groups, Luís Reis has held senior leadership roles at organizations including Sonae, MDS, Optimus, Novis, and Modelo Continente. He is currently CEO of Universo, a company within the Sonae ecosystem.
His career reflects a distinctive combination of executive experience, multidisciplinary academic training, and active engagement with the business and innovation ecosystem. Luís Reis graduated in Medicine from the University of Coimbra, holds a Master’s degree in Management from the University of Porto, an MBA from Instituto Superior de Estudos Empresariais, and a PhD in Economics and Business Sciences from Complutense University of Madrid. He also completed an Executive Program at Stanford University.
Throughout his career, he has also held responsibilities in several national and international institutions. He served as President of the Portuguese Association of Distribution Companies, Vice-President of the Business Council for Sustainable Development Portugal, and member of the General Council of the University of Coimbra, AEP, WBCSD, EuroCommerce, and two working groups of the European Commission.
Luís Reis’ appointment as a full-time Professor of Strategy reinforces Porto Business School’s commitment to bringing real leadership experience into executive education, combining applied knowledge, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the challenges facing organizations.
With this new appointment, Porto Business School continues to strengthen its faculty community with leaders who understand what it means to lead, transform, and create impact.
