PBS and SASUP sign cooperation agreement to enhance student well-being

Date
22 of July, 2025

On 5 June 2025, Porto Business School (PBS) and the Social Action Services of the University of Porto (SASUP) signed a specific cooperation agreement aimed at expanding access to essential student services in the areas of food, housing, health and well-being.

This partnership strengthens PBS’s commitment to a more inclusive academic experience, focused on the holistic well-being of its students. It is part of the broader General Cooperation Protocol already established between PBS and the University of Porto.

With this agreement:

– Students currently enrolled at PBS will gain equal access to the SASUP-managed canteens and food units.
– They will be able to apply for student accommodation services, subject to availability.
– They will have access to medical consultations across various specialities — including Psychology, Psychiatry, General and Family Medicine, Nutrition, Gynaecology and Dentistry — for a fixed fee of €35 per consultation.

According to Patrícia Teixeira Lopes, Vice-Dean of Porto Business School:
“This agreement is a decisive step in our mission to create a more balanced, human and accessible academic environment, ensuring our students are supported in every aspect of their academic journey.”

The agreement also includes:

-Opportunities for joint initiatives within the University of Porto’s Health and Well-Being Plan.
– The use of PBS facilities for events organised by SASUP.

With this initiative, Porto Business School reinforces its investment in practical solutions that improve student quality of life — recognising that academic excellence goes hand-in-hand with social and human care.
