Porto Business School has joined the QS Responsible AI Consortium, an international network bringing together universities and business schools committed to the responsible development and adoption of Artificial Intelligence in higher education.
This membership connects Porto Business School with an international community focused on sharing knowledge, developing collaborative projects and addressing the challenges that Artificial Intelligence is creating for higher education institutions.
Created by QS Quacquarelli Symonds in collaboration with leading international business schools, the Responsible AI Consortium supports institutions as they integrate AI into teaching, learning, research and operations, while addressing questions of ethics, governance and responsibility.
A network for exploring AI in higher education
The QS Responsible AI Consortium provides a forum for institutions facing many of the same questions: How should students and executives be prepared to work with Artificial Intelligence? How can these technologies be integrated into teaching and assessment? What governance structures are needed? And how can institutions benefit from AI without compromising transparency, fairness and accountability?
Its work covers four main areas: research and intellectual leadership; teaching, learning and assessment; outreach and operational efficiencies; and governance and human commitment.
Members have access to tools and frameworks designed to develop institutional AI readiness, project-based learning opportunities, research collaborations and working groups, as well as environments in which new AI technologies can be tested in an educational setting. The Consortium also enables institutions to exchange experience and develop shared approaches to assessing AI tools and their applications.
What membership means for Porto Business School
Joining the QS Responsible AI Consortium gives Porto Business School an opportunity to work more closely with international institutions as they respond to the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence, and to contribute to that forum.
Membership creates new opportunities for collaboration across research, experimentation and learning, while enabling the School to exchange practices and compare different approaches to institutional AI adoption. Members can also draw on resources such as the QS AI Capability Framework, which helps higher education institutions assess their current capabilities, identify gaps and establish priorities across teaching, research, governance and operations.
For Porto Business School, joining the network also builds on work already under way around the role of Artificial Intelligence in management and executive education, including discussion of AI and digital ethics and programmes focused on leading responsible AI transformation.
The question is no longer simply which AI tools institutions should use. It is also how they should use them, what capabilities they need to develop and how technology can create meaningful value for students, faculty, organisations and society.
A growing international community
The Responsible AI Consortium was launched by QS in December 2024, with EDHEC Business School, Imperial College Business School and Luiss Business School as founding members.
The network has continued to grow since its launch. The University of Exeter, for example, joined in 2025, extending the international collaboration around ethical and responsible AI adoption in higher education.
By joining the QS Responsible AI Consortium, Porto Business School becomes part of this international exchange of knowledge and practice at a time when Artificial Intelligence is moving beyond being a technology issue alone and becoming a central question for education, leadership and organisational transformation.
