PBS strengthens its role as a strategic sustainability partner through applied learning projects with purpose-driven organizations
In early April, Porto Business School launched the Capstone Project phase of the Executive Master in Sustainability Management. These final projects challenge students to apply what they’ve learned in real-world settings, creating tangible impact for both organizations and society.
In 2024, companies such as Riopele, REN, Galp, Grupo Casais/Blufab, ESO, and Shay Murtagh trusted PBS to co-develop sustainability solutions with students. In 2025, that trust grows with new partners — EarthToday, EDP Renewables, Lactogal, Mountain Water, Vestas, and Sonae MC — who recognize the school’s ability to mobilize talent, strategic thinking, and applied research to drive transformation.
These organizations act as project sponsors, presenting strategic challenges in areas like energy transition, sustainable value chains, circular economy, and social innovation. Students, working in multidisciplinary teams, collaborate closely with PBS faculty and company representatives to co-create actionable solutions using research, design thinking, and sustainability frameworks.
More than an academic exercise, the Capstone experience helps students strengthen their analytical, collaborative, and leadership skills — in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment aligned with global sustainability goals.
These partnerships reflect Porto Business School’s mission: to prepare responsible leaders ready to navigate complexity with vision, ethics, and impact. The Capstone Projects are also a clear expression of the school’s vision — to generate applied knowledge that helps shape a more sustainable, ethical, and innovative future.
By earning the trust of forward-thinking organizations, PBS reinforces its role as a credible partner in advancing sustainable transformation — within companies and across society.
