Porto Business School recognizes faculty at the Teaching Excellence Faculty Awards 2026
Porto Business School celebrated the excellence of its faculty community at the Teaching Excellence Faculty Awards 2026, an initiative dedicated to recognizing the impact, dedication, and teaching quality of the professors who shape the School’s learning experience.
Held under the theme “Celebrating Impact in Learning,” the ceremony brought together Porto Business School’s faculty community for an evening of institutional recognition, reflection, and celebration. The session featured remarks by José Esteves, Dean of Porto Business School, Matilde Rocha, City Councillor for Education, Talent and Knowledge at Porto City Council, and Ana Côrte-Real, Faculty & Corporate Relations Director at Porto Business School.
The ceremony highlighted the central role of faculty in Porto Business School’s mission, recognizing professors as drivers of transformation who inspire curiosity, challenge perspectives, and create learning experiences with a lasting impact on participants and organizations. The program also included the panel “The Challenges and Joys of Teaching at PBS,” moderated by Patrícia Teixeira Lopes, Vice-Dean at Porto Business School, with Alia El Banna, Paulo Gomes, and Paulo Salgado.
The Teaching Excellence Faculty Awards recognize faculty members who were especially valued by participants, achieving evaluation scores above 4.5 in their respective program categories. This edition distinguished professors across several areas of the School’s portfolio, including MBA programs, Executive Masters, Postgraduate Programs, the General Management Program, Open Executive Programs, and Custom Programs.
During the session, Porto Business School also reinforced its faculty strategy, built around four key pillars: recruitment and retention, faculty management, professional development, and faculty training. This approach ensures that the School’s faculty remains at the forefront of executive education, applied research, and industry engagement.
The ceremony also included the Faculty Impact Award, which recognizes a faculty member whose contribution to Porto Business School goes beyond teaching. In 2026, the award was presented to Pedro A. Vieira, honoring his consistent engagement across different programs, formats, and initiatives, as well as his contribution to a collaborative and impactful learning community.
With this initiative, Porto Business School reinforces its commitment to academic excellence, pedagogical innovation, and the recognition of the faculty members who help prepare leaders to transform organizations and society.
