On June 3rd, Porto Business School will host a Business Breakfast focused on the legal and economic risks associated with competition law.
Organised in partnership with Miranda & Associados, this session will bring together experts in Competition Law and Economics to discuss how companies can proactively protect themselves against practices that carry significant legal risk — including merger control, restrictive practices, and the sanctioning power of the Portuguese Competition Authority (AdC).
As regulatory frameworks become increasingly demanding and sanctions more severe, companies need a clear understanding of legal challenges and stronger internal compliance and prevention mechanisms.
Expert-Led Debate
The debate will feature:
– Miguel Marques de Carvalho, Partner at Miranda & Associados and Head of the firm’s European and Competition Law practice. He has nearly 20 years of experience advising leading companies in Portugal, the EU, and Lusophone countries.
– Filipe Grilo, Head of Applied Research at Porto Business School, holds a PhD in Economics with a specialization in financial crises and has extensive academic and practical experience in economic analysis.
The session will be moderated by João Coelho de Pinho, Partner at Miranda & Associados.
