The sports industry is growing and becoming increasingly complex, driven by digital transformation, fan engagement, the growing use of data in decision-making, and the evolution of investment and business models. At the same time, clubs, leagues, federations, and other organisations across the sports ecosystem are under increasing pressure to balance performance, financial sustainability, innovation, governance, and international growth. Leading in this context requires more than industry knowledge: it demands business, analytical, and strategic capabilities that can turn opportunities into informed decisions and results.
The Advanced Program in Sports Management at Porto Business School, co-created with the European Sport Business School (ESBS), was designed for professionals looking to develop their careers in the sports industry and build a more strategic and integrated understanding of sports management. The program connects strategy, operations, and leadership with topics such as governance, performance, analytics, artificial intelligence, and decision-making, through a learning experience that combines online sessions with immersive experiences in Porto and Madrid.
Join us on September 7, at 17h00 (Lisbon Time), for an information session dedicated to the Advanced Program in Sports Management. During the session, you will have the opportunity to explore the learning journey, understand how the program combines management knowledge with direct exposure to the industry, masterclasses, immersive experiences within real sports ecosystems, and practical application, and address your questions directly with Rosário Moreira and Carmen Ruano, Program Directors.
During the session, we will address questions such as:
- Is this program aligned with my professional profile and career goals within the sports industry?
- Which management, leadership, and decision-making capabilities are most relevant in today’s sports sector?
- How do strategy, operations, and performance come together in the management of sports organisations?
- How can data, analytics, and artificial intelligence support strategic and operational decision-making?
- How does the program address topics such as governance, regulation, and international growth?
- What exposure will I have to clubs, leagues, federations, and other professionals and organisations within the sports ecosystem?
- How do the immersive experiences in Porto and Madrid work, and what role do they play in the learning journey?
- How does the Capstone Project work, and how does it allow participants to apply their learning to a real challenge within the sports industry?
- What impact can this learning journey have on my career, whether I already work in the sector, am looking to enter the industry, or am transitioning into management and leadership roles?
