An Unstable and Changing World: Building a New International Order

In a period of heightened geopolitical uncertainty and economic disruption, understanding global developments has become a strategic imperative for leaders across sectors.

JANUS SUMMER SUMMIT 2026 brings together policymakers, business leaders, academics, and experts to examine the forces reshaping the international order and their implications for Portugal, Europe, and the global economy.

Hosted by Porto Business School in partnership with JANUS, the summit will provide a forum for informed debate on the political, economic, and strategic challenges emerging from a rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape.

The program features Paulo Portas, one of Portugal’s most recognized commentators on international affairs, who will share his perspective on the shifting balance of power, global instability, and the challenges facing democratic societies and open economies.

The event will also include an economic outlook session led by Filipe Grilo, from the Innovation Hub at Porto Business School, exploring the key local and global factors expected to influence the Portuguese economy during the second half of 2026.
