CIT

Tourism Intelligence Centre

The CIT – Tourism Intelligence Centre is a project promoted by Porto Business School within the framework of ATT – Accelerate and Transform Tourism, with the aim of transforming dispersed data into strategic knowledge for tourism management. Designed as a data-driven infrastructure, CIT will integrate, process and analyse information from multiple public and private sources in order to support more informed decisions by public entities, businesses, academia and other actors across the tourism ecosystem.

The project addresses a structural challenge of fragmentation and underuse of tourism data by creating an ecosystem capable of generating indicators, forecasts, dashboards and analytical tools with practical value for destination management. In doing so, it seeks to contribute to a more integrated understanding of demand, supply and tourism flows, strengthening competitiveness, sustainability and the territory’s planning capacity.

Consortium

CIT is promoted by the Porto Business School Association (PBS) – U.Porto, the contracting entity for the project, and will be developed in collaboration with Ubiwhere, the company responsible for the design, development and implementation of the technological solution.

As part of ATT – Accelerate and Transform Tourism, the project brings together knowledge, technology and implementation capacity to create an infrastructure with practical impact on tourism management and on the development of smarter and more sustainable destinations.

Key Activities and Results

For Porto Business School, CIT reinforces the institution’s commitment to creating applied knowledge and developing solutions with real impact in strategic sectors of the economy. By focusing on turning data into useful intelligence for tourism management, the project strengthens PBS’s position at the intersection of management, technology, artificial intelligence and territorial development.

The initiative contributes to PBS’s strategic objectives by combining innovation, practical relevance and ecosystem engagement, bringing together academic knowledge, public decision-making and business application. At the same time, it affirms Porto Business School’s ambition to play an active role in building smarter, more competitive and more sustainable destinations, capable of generating value for organisations, territories, residents and visitors.
