Biography
PhD in Economics from the LSE – London School of Economics and Political Science (UK), with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Economics from FEP – Faculty of Economics, University of Porto.
Currently serves as a Member of the Portuguese Parliament, City Councillor of Porto, Associate Professor at FEP, and Professor at Porto Business School, where he is Director of the Postgraduate Program in Health Services Management and Leadership.
He has previously served as President of the Northern Regional Health Administration, President of the Portuguese Health Regulatory Authority, and as a member of several commissions and working groups at the Ministry of Health. Internationally, he was an economist at the International Monetary Fund, member of the Financial Markets Group at LSE, and lecturer at LSE. He also served as a board member in the financial and education sectors.
