Biography
João holds a Degree in Economics from the University of Porto (FEP) and a PhD in Economics from Gothenburg University, with a specialization in International Macroeconomics and Finance.
An Associate Professor at FEP, he teaches Macroeconomic Policy and Theory and is the author of several publications, including Monetary Policy in the European Monetary System, Euro: A Macroeconomic Analysis, and Fiscal Policy in the Euro Area.
He has advised the Portuguese Ministry of Finance, the government of Cape Verde, and contributed to the creation of the Portuguese Fiscal Council Statutes.
A researcher at CEF.UP, he has served as Audit Committee Chair at Banco Millennium BCP (2009–2018) and Banco CTT (2019–present).
