Biography
Graduated in Management (1996) with the Engº António de Almeida Foundation Prize and holds a Master’s degree in Business Sciences, specializing in Finance (2005), from the Faculty of Economics of Porto (FEP). PhD in Finance from the University of Oxford (Saïd Business School), UK (2010). A lecturer at FEP since 1996, he is currently an Assistant Professor at FEP and a Visiting Professor at Porto Business School. A member of the Supervisory Board of Bial-Portela, he previously worked as controller and assistant CFO at EFACEC and as CFO of an SME in the cork sector. He is the author of several scientific publications in the area of Private Equity and Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), presented at the main academic conferences in the area of Finance (American Finance Association, European Finance Association and Financial Management Association), and published in the scientific journals Journal of Applied Finance and Journal of Banking and Finance.
