Biography
Paulo J. Pereira is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto (FEP), where he teaches Finance subjects at different levels of education (Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD). He obtained an Aggregate Degree in Management from FEP (2018) and a PhD in Business Sciences, specializing in Finance, from the University of Minho (2006). His research interests focus on the following topics: Real Options Theory; Investment under Uncertainty; Continuous Time Dynamic Models in Corporate Finance. He has 26 scientific publications in international journals, namely in European Financial Management, Journal of Business Research, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Economic Dynamics & Control, European Journal of Finance, International Review of Economics & Finance, Quantitative Finance, International Journal of Finance & Economics, Economic Modelling, Economics Letters, Mathematics and Financial Economics, among others. He has supervised several PhD and Master’s theses. He has non-academic professional experience, having been Financial Director of the Valente Marques Group (Valente Marques, SGPS, SA; Valente Marques Comercial, SA and Valente Marques Industrial SA), Regional Director and Assistant to the Board of Directors in companies of the Media Capital Group.
