Biography
A lawyer, politician and university professor, Dr. Paulo Rangel currently serves as a Member of the European Parliament and Vice-Chairman of the European People’s Party Group. He is a member of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs and the Delegation for Relations with the United States. He is also a member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and the Delegation to the EU-Russia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Robert Schuman Foundation, a space for reflection and European political action. He is the author of several books and numerous scientific articles, including: “The State of the State”, 2009; “Deaf Wars – Chronicles of Political Tension”, 2005; “Rethinking the Judiciary”, 2001.
