Biography
Rui Viana is a Professor at the University of Porto, at both the Faculty of Economics (FEP) and Porto Business School (PBS), and a business consultant. He is a partner in a family-owned Economic and Management Consulting firm, founded in 1999, specializing in services to companies in the areas of Strategic Growth, Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate and Organizational Restructuring, and the Design and Implementation of Reporting Systems.
Since 2007, he has taught at Porto Business School in MBA programs, Postgraduate Programs, and other executive education programs, delivering courses related to Financial Reporting and Financial Management. Between 2015 and 2020, he served as Director of the School’s Executive MBA.
He previously worked at Coopers & Lybrand and Cosec – Companhia de Seguros de Crédito, and was an external consultant to the Porto Derivatives Exchange. He is a member of the Supervisory Board of several companies and of Associação Porto Digital.
As part of his consulting work with Porto Business School, he has supported the definition and implementation of growth strategies for Portuguese companies, as well as the definition of corporate and organizational structures.
He holds a degree in Management and a PhD in Business Sciences from the University of Porto.
