Paulo Gomes
Paulo has a degree in Chemical Engineering and holds a PhD in the same field from Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto. Paulo is currently the Data Science and Analytics Manager at BA Glass, Avintes, Portugal. From 2012 to 2022, Paulo worked at bp, London, UK, where he had several roles: from developing models to analyse data in real-time for drilling and cementing oil and gas wells to developing bp’s digital twin for producing assets. From 2015 to 2020, he lectured Drilling Engineering as part of the MSc in Petroleum Engineering in a partnership between Galp and Heriot-Watt University. Paulo is a council member of the Ambassador’s Network for the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering Foundation.
