Joel Curado
Joel Curado is a Managing Director of Business Development at CasperLabs, responsible for worldwide business development and partnerships. Joel has over 15 years experience in the technology industry and smart cities vertical having previously worked at Cisco Systems as part their smart city practice and Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration initiative, leading the smart city vertical for Switzerland.
He is also part of the World Economic Forum’s Crypto Sustainability Coalition, part of the Crypto Impact and Sustainability Accelerator (CISA) to investigate how blockchain and web3 tools can be leveraged to achieve positive climate action. Before, Joel was part of a technical advisory team on sustainable urban development for SECO, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of the Swiss Government.
Joel is an Adjunct Professor at IE Business School on the topics of Smart Cities as well as a Board Member for the School’s Advisory Board of their Technology MBAs. Joel is also an adjunct professor at ISCTE-IUL University in Lisbon, Portugal on blockchain.
Joel is currently a PhD Candidate in Information Sciences and Technology on the topics of Blockchain Technologies, their adoption and implementation in the smart city space. He is an IE Business School Executive MBA Graduate, an Economist and specialised in Public Policy by the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
