Futurefulness. A neologism created by Porto Business School to define a permanent state of immersion in the future.

And that is exactly what defines Vertex, Porto Business School´s annual Conference, former known as Grand Conference. It promises to explore the aspects and impacts of human behavior, including irrationality both in management and decision-making processes.

Richard H. Thaler is the 2017 recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his contributions to behavioral economics.

Mitch Lowe

Mitch Lowe invested in and became CEO of MoviePass, Inc. in June 2016. MoviePass is a Movie Theater subscription service and is headquartered in New York City.

Jean-François Manzoni

Jean-François Manzoni is the Dean of IMD where he also serves as the Nestlé Professor. He studies the content of change, the management of the change process and the role of leaders therein.

Moderation

Ricardo Monteiro joined Unilever when he was 24, as a Management Trainee. In fourteen years he worked his way up through various positions to become Managing Director of a business unit, Elida Gibbs. At age 31, he became one of the youngest people ever to achieve a senior management position at the sprawling multinational.

In 1994, he joined BBDO, an ad agency, as partner and CEO. In 1999 he joined EuroRSCG, later to become Havas (*), as CEO of the Portuguese operation. Within Havas he held positions as Vice-President Europe, CEO Latin America and Iberia, Global Vice-President, Global President, and Global Chairman. He retired from business in January 2017.

He has won many professional accolades, namely Personality of the Year and Personality of the Decade by Meios&Publicidade, Lifetime Achievement Awards by Lusos and Meios&Publicidade, and many others.
