Privacy Policy

1. Scope

The Privacy and Personal Data Protection Policy, complementary to the Terms and Conditions of Use, is intended to regulate the processing of personal data to be carried out by Porto Business School on account of the use of its website.

Associação Porto Business School (PBS) -U.Porto, a non-profit association, with registered office at Avenida Fabril do Norte, n.º 425, parish of Senhora da Hora, Matosinhos council, with postal code 4460-314, and tax identification number 508 541 832.

3. Data collected

(1) Data provided directly by the data subject; (2) Data collected as part of the relationship established with the data subject; (3) Personal data requested from the data subject and processed with their consent;

4. Purpose

The processing of personal data includes, in particular, the registration, collection, consultation, use, adaptation, alteration, storage, destruction of data, among other operations.

5. Purposes

The use of the data collected is for the following purposes in particular: (1) to provide services requested by the data subject; (2) to provide information on products, services, marketing activities, campaigns, promotions, statistical purposes and personalized content, subject to prior consent.

6. Legislation

Porto Business School guarantees the processing of personal data in accordance with the legislation in force regarding its collection, processing, use, disclosure, storage and privacy.

7. Data not processed

Porto Business School will not process personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, nor will it process genetic data, biometric data to unequivocally identify a person, data relating to health or data relating to the holder’s sex life or sexual orientation.

8. Registration

By accessing, using or making use of our services, and in the act of registration referred to in point 6. of the TERMS OF USE, the user agrees to Porto Business School’s privacy and personal data protection policy, giving their consent to the collection and processing of their data for the purposes referred to in point 5 by providing it directly. Failure to provide or partial provision of personal data by the data subject may limit or make it impossible to provide the services.

9. Collection

Personal data may only be collected if: (1) the user registers on the website; (2) the data subject requests a service, responds to a survey, requests more information about a program via a form and/or chatbot or exchanges electronic correspondence with Porto Business School.

10. Consent to receive information

The data subject will give their prior consent to receive commercial communications for marketing purposes, with the right to object at any time by sending a written communication to Porto Business School. Said commercial information may be sent by Porto Business School via email, telephone, SMS or any other means of electronic communication, social networking websites, Web 2.0, any cell phone content or method.

11. Transmission

Apart from the obligations referred to in the Law applicable to data protection or the safeguarding and protection of its own interests, Porto Business School will not share any personal data with third parties.

12. Technical and organizational measures

Porto Business School has appropriate technical and organizational measures in place to protect the data processed, namely against unauthorized access or any other form of illegal or unlawful processing. Porto Business School guarantees, in addition to the internal security and protection measures of its facilities, the limitation of access to personal data only to its employees for the fulfillment of the processing purposes.

13. Access, modification and deletion

The data subject has the right to access and rectify the data processed and may, at any time, withdraw consent to the processing and request the deletion of the data, by means of a written communication addressed to Porto Business School.

14. Duration of Data Maintenance

Porto Business School will make reasonable efforts to ensure that it retains data on the data subject only for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required under any contract or applicable law, up to a maximum of 5 (five) years, or indefinitely if it is data collected for academic purposes.

15. Applicability

Porto Business School’s privacy and personal data protection policies apply to the processing of personal data carried out within the scope of its commercial activities and the provision of services, in accordance with the principles of lawfulness, fairness and transparency.

16. Cookies

Porto Business School may use cookies on its website in order to improve the quality of the service, the features provided and the user experience, and they are not used to define profiles. 17. Automated decisions
