Gavin Eccles has over 30 year’s experience in marketing and strategic management; and in his consultancy and advisory positions, Gavin is responsible for ensuring the success of marketing, communication, and business planning strategies for a range of international organisations, where his client work has taken him across the globe in the design and delivery of client assignments. In particular, Gavin has extensive experience in developing business strategies, and works alongside Senior Management to shape their corporate approach. This work has been conducted in international clients as diverse as American Airlines, British Airways, Marks and Spencer, Shell, BBC, Guinness, Marriott Hotels, as well as a wide range of public sector organisations.
Most recently, Gavin has held a c-Level position (CCO) of an international airline (SATA Airlines - Portugal) responsible for the development of the carriers North American expansion, and, ensuring a commercial strategy to build yield and revenue maximisation. This role ensured constant dialogue between the public and private sector, and, to ensure a constant dialogue and connection with the investor community.
With a strong association with aviation and tourism, Gavin has also advised numerous international Tourist Boards, and, is presently the Advisor to the Board of the Portuguese National Tourist Office on their vision and mission, and, a similar approach has been undertaken with Visit London.
Gavin also holds numerous Professorial positions at Universities and Business Schools where he brings an international perspective to support individuals as well as corporate learning. These academic roles entail lecturing on management practices and have enabled Gavin to develop numerous models and templates. These have since been published and Gavin has written numerous journal articles and book chapters on the changing role of marketing and strategic management. Similarly, to develop academic rigour, Gavin has supervised numerous Masters and Doctoral research projects that bring new thinking to the business world.
